There are a lot of clothes out there that make me wonder, "Who would actually wear this?" The worst part is, some of these have become trends.
One of the worst fashion trends I've seen is a miniskirt or shorts with Ugg boots. It looks like whoever's wearing them woke up one morning, suddenly got amnesia, and forgot what season it was. Miniskirts and shorts aren't supposed to be worn when there is snow on the ground and the temperature is below freezing. But for some reason, a lot of girls wear them together because it looks "cute".
So if it's winter, and you live somewhere where the temperature is usually around or below freezing (like it is here), then you should probably find a pair of jeans or sweatpants instead of a miniskirt. If it's summer, try wearing some shoes that aren't filled with anything furry or warm that'll make your feet sweat. Uggs are ugg-ly anyway :P
Besides the fact that the name makes the shoes sound like something a crocodile hunter would wear, taking one look at them makes me want to throw them into the nearest incinerator and watch them burn. Crocs come in every color of the rainbow, and even some colors that probably haven't been discovered yet. For example, here are a few pairs in hideous shades of green, metallic puke brown, and purple. I have been in quite a few stores where there are entire walls devoted to Crocs in every color. They even come in Hello Kitty and a horrible blend of red, white, and blue. There's also a style of crocs with fur on the inside to keep your feet warm... even though there are holes all over the shoe.
If that isn't bad enough, some people buy tacky "Jibbitz" to put in the holes. Apparently adding something like a train, a smiley face, or the Crocs logo to the holes will make them look cuter.
Unless you plan on spending all day in your garden and away from public places, it's a good idea to put away the Crocs and get some decent shoes - shoes that aren't covered with holes like Swiss cheese and don't feel like you're walking on hard plastic.
Leggings are not a substitute pants, but for some reason I always see girls wearing them with a short top. If you're wearing a dress or a skirt over them, that's fine, but really tight leggings and a normal top just don't go together.
I'm not sure if this is a trend anywhere else, but most of the girls at my school have a Vera Bradley tote bag. I don't understand why they're so popular - they're ugly, overpriced, and they're unoriginal since everyone and their mom has one. They look like a piece of old wallpaper covered in flowers and swirly things was ripped off a wall and pasted onto the bag. I wouldn't walk around with something that looks like my grandma would decorate a wall with.
