FTP
FTP stands for File Transfer Protocol. You can use it to upload files from your computer to the internet. If you're hosted or you have a domain, you can use FTP. Not many free hosts allow FTP access, but if they do you should use it - it's a lot faster and easier than uploading things one by one via a file manager.
Start by downloading a FTP program here. It's free to download, but sometimes you have to close the program a few times before you can get in. If you can't get in, just X out and click the BestFTP Explorer icon again until the Continue button shows up. There are lots of other FTP programs out there that you can download (Smart FTP, ALFTP, CuteFTP), but I like this one mainly for the tabbed online edit.
In the Site Book, go to Site > New Site. Under the Login tab, type your login information. Your host should have given you a username and password. Make sure your username looks like this: yourusername@yourhostssite.com. The port should stay at 21, and the host name is ftp.yourhostssite.com. Add your site name under the General tab and press ok. Your site should be showing up in the sitebook.
Double click on your site name. Once it's done logging in you should see a new window that probably has a few folders in it (cgi-bin, errordocs, etc). Go to the window with all of your files in it, and search for a picture or page to upload to your site. Click on it and press F6, and it should start uploading. When it's done, it'll make a noise and there should be a green circle at the bottom of your site files window. You can upload multiple files at once by highlighting them and pressing F6.
To add a folder, press F11. Name it something and press OK. You can upload things to folders to make your site more organized.
To edit a page, click on it and press F9. An online editor will pop up with your page coding. Change whatever you want to, and click on the refresh icon (top left corner) to save your changes. You can open multiple files at once to edit them.
