Pen Tool

This tutorial will show you how to use the pen tool in Illustrator to draw or trace something.

Straight Lines

Click on the pen tool . Click anywhere you want. Then click again. Continue doing this and you can make any shape with straight lines.

Curved Lines

Using the pen tool, click anywhere you want. Then click somewhere else while holding the mouse down. Drag your mouse to the side a bit and let go. Then click somewhere else without holding the mouse down. The second point should be a curve that becomes wider the more you drag it out.

Adjusting Lines

Click on the Selection Tool or press V on your keyboard. Press Shift and click on an anchor point so it turns white. Drag the point to where you want it to go. You can also click on the handles to adjust curves.
