Gradients

This tutorial will show you how to make gradients using two or more colors.

2 Color Gradients

In your materials palette, choose two colors. I'm going to make a gradient that fades from pink to yellow, so I chose pink as a foreground/stroke color (top) and yellow as a background color (bottom).

Click on your foreground color and click on the Gradient tab. From the drop-down menu of gradients, choose Foreground-Background. Use these settings:

Now you can flood fill your background with the gradient, or select an area with the selection tool and fill it with the gradient.

3+ Color Gradients

Click on your foreground or background color and click on the Gradient tab. Under the gradient selection, click Edit. A new window should show up with a list of all the available gradients. Click New and name it.

Click in the middle of the gradient slider to add a new color. If you want it exactly in the middle, make sure you change the Location to 50.

Click on the rectangle on the far left. Change its color by clicking in the box next to Custom and choosing a color.

Continue to change colors by clicking on each rectangle. You can also add more colors to your gradient by clicking anywhere along the line. I made one that looks like this:
