Making Patterns
This tutorial will show you how to make a stripe pattern to use on your graphics.
Step 1
Open a new transparent image in PSP, and make it 7x7. You can make it smaller or bigger to make the lines closer or farther apart. Click on the brush tool
or press B on your keyboard. Make the size 1 and the hardness 100. Start at one corner and draw pixels going to the opposite corner.

Step 2
Open a new image that you want to add the pattern to. Click on your foreground (top) color, and click on the Patterns tab on top. Your pattern should be showing up in the drop down menu. Click on it, and make sure your settings are like mine.

Step 3
Use the flood fill tool
to fill your background with the pattern. You can change the opacity if you want. I changed the opacity of mine to 60 and the blend mode to Overlay and got this:
